Cube Bunny Rabbit Amigurumi Pattern

IMG_20181228_131751-01-02

A free amigurumi pattern to make a cute little bunny with his carrot. Perfect for Easter too! If you like him don’t forget to check his other cube family friends! He share the same basic cube body as the kitty, puppy, birdie, batty and piggy patterns. Once you learn one you can do all of them :)

This pattern has on Ravelry.

You can make this pattern in any size you wish by simply using a different yarn weight. Here I will list the material I used for the 4 sizes bunnies pictured below:

The largest bunny:

  • 7mm crochet hook
  • Chunky Chenille yarn in color of choice
  • 25mm button eyes, heart nose (in this case I needle felted one)

Medium sized bunny:

Small sized bunny:

  • 3mm crochet hook
  • DK yarn in color of choice
  • 8mm safety eyes, small heart shape pink nose

The instructions are the same for all sizes. When there is a difference I'll indicate it clearly.

Stuff well. Place the nose between R11 and R12 (you may need to place it a row higher depending on how well you stuff it) in the middle of the face. If you are using large eyes (larger than 15mm) place the eyes at the same level as the nose (between R11 and R12). If not, add eyes one row above the nose (between R10 and R11).

The eyes look cuter if they are ~2-3 sts away from the nose on each side. Try the distance that looks best to you and once you are happy with it, fix them in place. See pictures for reference.

To change yarn to green:

  1. Use orange to do the first yarn over in the next sc
  2. then use green to do the last yarn over
  3. Finally draw through both loops on hook to complete stitch.

From then on all your following stitches will be green

Do one more sc after the last stitch then finish off. Use sewing needle to hide the remaining tail inside the carrot.

Assembly

Using a sewing needle:

  • Attach unstuffed legs to the bottom of the bunny body. You can place them as you wish. You can see how I prefer to place them in the pictures (tip, use pins to see how they look like before you sew them in).
  • Sew the ears to each side closer to the front than the back of the body. I place mine with one end on R4 and the other end on R6.
  • Sew the tail at back and bottom of the body (R15)
